graphic card?

hey guys I just installed BGEE with windows 8 and everything works fine till I get to the actual game screen. I can see the menu's along the left side of screen fine and where the player is its all white but I can still see and move my character around. I have Nvidia GeForce 310m graphic card. do I need a different one???
