[Minor Spoiler] Dealing with dummies in durlag's tower question

This is very stupid but in the iPad version I can't figure out how to either loot the dummies or put the wardstones on them. tapping the dummies just cause the characters to attack the dummies, you can't pickpocket an active foe, and the dummies won't talk to you.

Thanks for any help!

Hmmm, tricky. Can't offer direct help as I don't have the iPad version (nor an iPad even), but there should be a button on it that'll highlight all containers. This should highlight the dummies and pressing a bit above the targetting circle *should* hit the container box and not the targetting circle.

That's my best bet, but maybe someone with experience can help you better.

    Sparring dummies aren't containers.
They'll open certain doors when you attack them.

Well yes, but they are also containers.

OP I would advise using your pinky finger to click noticeably above the red circles. I understand your trouble.

I dont think it is what your are supposed to do, but I got through the entire area without losing out ion stuff by just atacking the red dummy just now. I didnt loot it or antyhing.

(I didnt know anything and just went through consequtive room after consequtive room).

Well it works fine that way. I don't think the dummies actually had any great items, so you just miss out on some nondescript loot.

Thanks for the info but i thought you had to put the right colored wardstones into the dummies to get one of the doors to open. Can't do that if they're not containers.

Huh, never heard of this. I took a quick look at a couple walkthroughs and neither of them mentioned it either.

Here's what the GameBanshee walkthrough says
"The Sparring Dummies: First notice that the three practice dummies have red circles under them. Your party will automatically attack them if the AI is on. So turn off the AI for the time being. Now, with the traps cleared, you can loot the three dummies. You can barely make out that the dummies are colored the same as the three rune stones you picked up in the bedroom. From left to right the three dummies are orange, red and green. Place the corresponding rune stones into each dummy's inventory. Loot them while you're at it. The orange dummy on the left contains a Potion of Master Thievery, 19 Arrows+1, 5 Poison Arrows, 11 Fire Arrows, 12 Ice Arrows and 6 Arrows+2. The red dummy in the center contains scrolls of Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, Protection from Lightning, Champions Strength and Defensive Harmony. The green dummy on the right contains 8 Potions of Healing and 2 Potions of Heroism. Now have one party member attack the center dummy until you get the message: "The halls resonate with the sound of grinding stone. A door has opened somewhere nearby".

The thing is I got the result without having to place the runes stones. Just attacking the dummy is enough.

You can overcome this easily enough:
Leave the room so that the training dummies are hidden in the fog of war. You can then select the containers without the dummies getting in the way. You character will then walk up to them with the intention of looting them, and dither for around 5-10 seconds as it is blocked from reaching the loot. Then the bg automatic looting script will kick in and youll open the container anyway.

It's the same tactic you can use to get the diamond from the eye of the statue of amauntor in the shadow temple, or to access a container being blocked by an immobile npc.
