i would really like a dlc with more voice options :)

i noticed that even with the new voice pack the voice options are quite limited and i dont really like most of the voices...
it also doesnt seem that hard to make new voice packs so there should be far more voices to choose from imho!
i myself could create around 5-6 voices or more but sadly i have no idea how i could add my own voices to the game... maybe you could create something that makes recording and adding your own soundfiles easier? i am currently doing a course in synchronizing and would love to try out my new skills on this game like creating voices that (for me) fit the portraits better and stuff

I emphatically agree with this. More voice options would be very welcome.

I'm currently playing the Black pits with a full custom party, and I'm pleased at using the male gruff cockney accent together with the new portrait below for a (half-orc) Barbarian:

But yeah, more options would be most welcome.

Yes this would be nice, DLC for "cosmetic" things like this would be great. I'd like some "eastern" arabic/oriental accents too.

I added some voicesets from BG2 and all, and stole some NPC voices. The selection is really very limited, especially if you create the entire party and have a selection of 12 in total. And there are only so many characters I can imagine having the old lady voice... I'd love more accents, too, because I'm pretty jelly when I hear the NPCs with accents.

How do you add the BG2 voicesets? Can you just copy the files to the voicesets folder? I have BG2.

I would think a DLC option for extra customizing content would be great. Not just voice sets, but portraits as well that cover a wider variety of races and of both genders. I would prefer more mature sounding voice sets as opposed to young and youthful. Accented is pretty cool, but don't rub it in.

If you can record your voice, the rest is easy. Just turn the clips into .wav (22 khz, 16 bit mono, from what I read) and name them correctly; 7 characters maximum length, ending in alphabethical order (i.e. Male9A.wav, Male9B.wav).

    A - battle cry
    B - if made leader
    C - wants rest
    D - idle/bored
    E - needs healing
    F - H - selecting character
    I - K - acknowledge action
    L - getting hit
    M - death
    N - being in forest
    O - being in city
    P - being underground
    Q - day
    S - night
    T - V - rare selecting character
W - death of party member

I recorded a voice pack for a big doofus who used INT as his dump stat.

In dungeon: "This place wouldn't be so bad except for all the evil."
    Battle cry: "It's head-bonkin' time!"
On party member death: "Ooh, I hope we didn't need dat guy."

When they patch the custom sound set function, I might post it somewhere. I'm an actor, so I'm prepared to do lots of voices. [Hint hint, Overhaul! :)]

Depending on how low your Int is, you might need a soundset with just a series of grunts... :-)

That would be cool. But Xan and me think that new voices are probably very unlikely, because voice acting is one on the more expensive aspects of this game (or is it not?).

dunno i have heard of a lot of voice actors complaining about not getting enough money :)
i am no professional but if i'd know an easy way to add it to the game i'd totally record my stuff and even share it with the community

Actually it is pretty easy ( with regard to BG1 and BG2) to use the one found on sorceres place. You just download them, then extract them right into the sounds file
