Using a personal photo need help

Okay, so I finally want to try to play a PC with a photo of myself, but I don't want to randomly just upload the photo, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any editors out there that just baldurize any photo, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any good photoshop tutorials out there that might explain better how to do it. Someone had once before offered to do it for me, but so many people are busy, I couldn't ask that of anyone. But I have yet to find any good tutorials, so if anyone knows of one, please feel free to link one or two of them because I would love to use one of my own photos

this is a very good tutorial, and I bookmarked it for future use. I did mean a tutorial for specifically baldurization, not generally photoshop overall.

These are quite advanced, though. I use a picture with lots of natural contrast/shadow, load up it with GIMP and play with special blur effects then sharpen effects until it looks pseudo-baldurised. Then cut the portrait and paste it on a nice fantasy background like a sky or magical swirlies and all. It looks okay at the end. ^^
