Updates verses new or retouched portraits

I was just wonder if the new updates would delete any new or retouched portraits that some people did for BG:EE?

    If you've placed the portraits in your Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\Portraits folder and NOT your override folder, then they'll still be there.
