BG2:EE included in the price of BG:EE ?

Hi,

I was just wondering if BG2:EE (although it is not yet released) is included in the 20$/€ of BG:EE.
Indeed, this price is a bit high for what is in fact BG1 with the interface of BG2 running on Windows Vista/7/8, iPad... and a few more things like extra NPCs.

I've search for the price of BG2:EE but didn't found anything.

So, is it only a mad dream or does it have some chances to become reality ?

Mad dream. There was no indication while purchasing BGEE that BG2EE would be included in the purchase price. Considering that it will require a separate development budget, they will need to sell the game to recoup their investment.

Perhaps you should do more research about BGEE. Its better than BG with BG2's interface.

It is not included. The game was just released on Steam and depending on the country you live in, it might be cheaper there than through Beamdogs website.

    Ok, mad dream then. :(

Thanks for your replies anyway !

@Flashburn : I know there is some additons like "The Black Pit", new NPCs, BG2 spells... But even with all those new features, it still tastes a bit like "too expansive for what it is". But that's only my opinion :)

@Bercon : Actually, while I live in France, it's actually cheaper to buy it through Beamdogs website than by Steam.
    On Steam : 19€
    Beamdog : 20$ ~= 15€ + conversion taxes

You get updates quicker, and a larger percentage goes to Overhaul (more money for BG2EE++) by using the Beamdog client - per Trent's twitter.

I know the price can be too much for some. Just imagine how worse it is for me...I can't think of a universal way to express the value, but in our country, $20 is worth 30-40 McDonalds meals.:D trust me though, Overhaul is the real deal...it's worth every cent, and I'm looking forward to the release of BG2:EE.

I think $20 is rather reasonable too. Buying a newly released game here costs roughly from $62 to $89. 0,5L bottle of soda, ~$4. A somewhat reasonably priced DVD is ~$20 and lasts for what, 90 minutes usually? While for that same 20 BG:EE gives me uncountable hours. Sure, the DVD has replay value too but nowhere near as much.

Yeah, you absolutely get the next game for free if you buy the first. Because spending another 20 bucks is too much to ask for, right? *rolls eyes* Do people really not see the ridiculousness of this topic...at all?

Wait, so what you're saying is TotSC is not included with BG:EE?

@Elzarath: TOtSC is included in BG:EE, so no, you won't have to waste one precious dime. Heavens be praised!

@Elzarath I'm not sure if what you wrote was a joke but if it wasn't then yes. ToTSC is included in BG:EE. That has already been mentioned for more than half a year on their main webpage.

    @Fol
But why BG2:EE would be included is beyond me. I get that you may be unsatisfied with the amount of changes (or lack thereoff) but that doesn't entitle you to the second game for free.

I was for an example very unhappy with mass effect 3. That doesn't mean I expect to get another game for free. All it means is that I lost the major trust I had in bioware. Does that mean I wont ever buy a game from them again? No it does not. It means that I wont be buying their games on release date (or through presales) but instead I'll wait to see what the players actually think of the games. The same unfortunately goes for blizzard after diablo 3.

If you are unhappy with BG:EE then I advise you not to buy BG2:EE at release date but instead wait to see what people think of it. Personally, while I may not be overwhelmed with the changes of BG:EE, I am still happy enough that I'm going to buy BG2:EE in presales.

@op 'Fool' is spelled with two 'o' instead of just one. Definitely trolling at its best.

$62 to $89, woow that expensive? Ours here usually range from $37-50; on rare occasions it could reach $75. I guess that means they charge less on somewhat poorer countries.haha agreed though..the price is very very reasonable. Nothing is cheap for students - that's the real problem.:D

Over here, BG2 was tagged at $40 first it came out. $3 more than Diablo 1 and 2. Console games had been at $40 for lesser titles and $80+ for AAAs ever since the beginning.

I'm only about 1/3 of the way done, but I already feel like I got my money's worth. I'm playing an elven archer now, and already considering what my next toon will be.

Indeedy, so I always get a bit annoyed when people complain about having to pay half or less of what I do for a game... thankfully I usually restrain myself from saying something stupid though :) Nothing is indeed cheap for students or other unemployed people either, which makes video/computer games with a lot of replay value money well-spent.
