Recommended mods for BG2 and ToB

Hi folks! Could you recommend some usefull and fun mods for my next playthrough with bg2 and Tob? I just finished my bg1ee and i cant wait another year to get my hands on bg2ee so im gonna start bg2 tomorrow.

Im mainly searching for mods which could bring some challenge but not make the game super-hard. And also any mods which would enhance the overall gaming experience more enjoyable.

I have completed the whole saga before but not with mods so any tips would be appreciated.

    I think "Ascension" is absolutely essential - the content only comes into play during ToB, but it makes the final conflict much more satisfying. "Unfinished Business" is also a good idea as it ties up a few loose threads. :)

    Sword Coast Strategems is pretty good at making the game more challenging, and overall an excellent mod in my opinion. You can choose exactly which components you wish to install, so you can sort of tailor just how much difficulty it adds.

    I like both Ascension and the SCS mods though I would warn that they make the game pretty challenging if you are playing at a higher difficulty level.

    I would also recommend Baldur's Gate Trilogy to put all 3 parts of the game into 1 seamless game in the BG2 engine but if you want to play the BG:EE for the first part then just shadowkeeper your character so the stats and experience, etc. match (same for Jaheira and others coming through).
