Re-recruiting Dorn? Possible spoilers...

So I've recently learned that the Elven Chainmail is finally available, but only through Dorn's quest. I know I could just add it via console, but I'd have more fun playing to get it.

However, I've already met Dorn at the Friendly Arm, and then participated in the ambush near Nashkel. I'm playing a basically good party, so I sent him packing, and he wasn't happy. Now, if I talk to him at the Friendly Arm, he more or less tells me to watch my back and get lost.

Anything I can do to recruit him at this point, or do I need to just resort to adding the armor via console?

Pretty sure the latter. Interestingly you can keep Dorn in your party with 20 rep; when your rep ticks to 20 he drops group and comes and asks you if you want him to leave, you can say no and he'll stay. I'm not sure if that only happened because I'd progressed so far in his storyline/bromance.

Your reputation is too high. You need to get it to 18 or below before he will rejoin you.

That doesn't sound right. He should be recruitable in FAI. You could either console the Elven Chain, or force Dorn in your party via console. That way, you still get to play his quest.

Ah maybe it's the rep, I hadn't considered that. I'll give that a shot.

Failing that, I'll try forcing him into the party via console.
