It's not a bug. It's Infravision (It happens only at night, right?)

Yes, you can turn it off from gameplay options in the game menu. The option is called Group infravision.

its called group infravision and its a good thing because enemies are also highlighted. That, or Neera is a mutant.

Neera is a Half-Elf. Half-Elves get infravision. Everything is fine :) By the way, the group infravision option doesn't turn infravision off as a whole, it just toggles the red glow to the behavior described by the OP (so that enemies glow only when party members with infravision are selected).

Yup, 't is infravision. If your character or anyone else in your party is an Elf or Half-Elf, your group will start glowing red at night, meaning their natural in-born Infravision skill is active then. :)

Haha, it goes to show just how useless infravision is when you have people actually complaining about its effects even when you get them for free, let alone having to spend a spell slot on it.

It would be nice if Infravision actually did something. Like give people who have it +1 to hit at night or something.

Better would be to give everyone who doesn't have it -1 to hit at night/in caves/etc, but that will never happen.

It allows you to easily see living opponents at night/in dark areas.

Seriously, You want more then that from a free racial ability?

the infinity engine games have no real darkness implemented (like in Might and Magic where it is pitch black in the older games or very dark in the newer ones without light spell) so the use is pretty much lost.

Well the short races can get as much as a +5 bonus to saves vs death, wand and spell as a 'free' racial ability. So I don't think it's ridiculous to expect, or at least hope for, something a little less useless than infravision.

They're supposed to have infravision....last I heard it doesn't work. Only Gnomes, Dwarves, Elves, and Half-elves for sure have infravision. Humans and Halflings don't (which isn't 100% correct since Halflings have a ~65% chance to be born with infravision, depending on their bloodline)
