[REQUEST] Helmet Sprites Redrawn/Import from Icewind Dale

I bet somebody's brought it up before, but I need to say it again.

I'm aware the originals were lost along the way, but the helmets are just UGLY AS HELL. I'm not satisfied with having the option of removing the sprites from the game, that isn't good enough. The helmet sprites should be redrawn to match the inventory icons. The sugar loaf great helms of the Flaming Fist should look exactly as they should. Most of the helmets are rubbish except for the winged helmets which are good.

I was thinking maybe they could steal the sprites (with permission of course) from Icewind Dale. The helmets are looking awesome in that game, is it possible they could obtain the artwork from there and override the Baldur's Gate artwork?

Please fix this guys!

    Yeah, I think there's a topic about this already.

    I think they won't be able to use assets from IWD in this game. So the real question is if they'll be willing to make new animations for helmets.

    It all comes down to how much work they can dedicate to the animations.

    Yeah, I bet you're right there man. If the only thing for them to do is to redraw all the sprites then it probably won't happen. I just wish I knew who the incompetent git was who made the originals in the first place (apologies if the incompetent git is reading this) so I can kick his arse. :D

    I liked them from both games, the full face cover helmet with small horns+ topknot was the best from BG 2.

    Icewind Dale used the same sprites as Baldur's Gate, except for TotLM which changed them to Baldur's Gate II sprites for no apparent reason. Icewind Dale II uses Baldur's Gate II sprites.

    Baldur's Gate II sprites are plagued by a plethora of aesthetics shortcomings, one of which being awful-looking helmets that don't look like their paperdoll counterparts or inventory icon. Helms on BG1 animations were pretty good-looking, just like shields and pretty much everything else imho. However, with the source art assets being lost our chances to get those animations by default are so close to zero as it makes no difference.

    If they did, I could take care of the animation work with the help of the Infinity Animations guys and, in a relatively long while, dual-wielding capable BG1 animations could be made available.
