Telbar's Studded Leather Armor not compatible with Ring of the Princes +1 ?

Hi guys, I just acquired Telbar's Studded leather armor and apparently it is not able to be equipped if I equip my character with Ring of the Princes? Anyone else encountered this problem?

    it's not a problem, rings of protection don't stack with magical armour

    @mjs is totally correct. This is just AD&D rules, not a bug.

    Wouldn't it make sense that you could wear both a ring of protection and magical armor, but the effects just wouldn't stack?

    Apparently that's how it is in PnP. There's a component of BG2Tweaks that allow you to equip magic armor and multiple items of protection, and lets you choose whether they stack or not.
