Shapeshifting Question

What item effects still apply to a character in shapeshifted form? Do any weapon-style bonuses apply? I'm thinking about this in regards to a hypothetical Avenger in shapeshifted form, but I'm also curious about the application for Mages using Polymorph Self.

    From what I can recall of Relair's Mistake, most of your gear still applies, but weapon style bonuses do not. This may be different for a poly'd Gnoll or Ogre however, since their weapon is an actual weapon rather than a natural attack.
