Can't enter Nashkel mines

Okay, I spoke to Emmerson and he said go ahead and explore the mines. I touch screen in the mine entrance and the 6 character markers turn into a single white marker (as usually happens in entrance ways). All 6 characters then go to the white marker but they don't go in the mine. They stay there indefinitely.
Anyone else experiencing this.
I can't see a bug report or other post that lists this issue.
