Psionics? or physics?

I am not sure how the mecanics of this might work but but the game Nox or divine Divinity have implemented albeit a simple physics engine that allowed some basic level of environmental interaction in terms of explosives. Adding an element of physics ( am aware that there is some level of this with knockback or dragon wing attacks) and even some level of environmental control may pave way to implement psionics too, telekinesis perhaps? Either way psionics and the depleting spell power system has some merit to it imho and it would be pretty sweet so see something like that in the new game. Even at the basic level of wild talents. Some of the core psionic powers were implemented in the original games and some of these shouldn't even need rework. It just adds more depth to the character creation... Sorry got carried away...

In order for a character to properly interact with an environment, animations would have to be done for each individual action. If a dragon pushes you into a wall, the movement from dragon to wall is no sweat, but animations have to happen.

We already see what it looks like when a dragon hits you. The walking animation plays but instead you go backwards. Not very convincing but it does what it's meant to do ay?

I'll have to agree with @Ward, but for me the dragon battles are often so exciting I don't even realize the not-very-convincing effect of wing buffet! BG forces you to use your imagination, that's one of the reasons I love this game.

In order to interact with the environment, the environment must be animated
The way the infinity engine works, the environment is static (with few exceptions, when you open or close a door, or shut something off)
Notice how the screen blacks out when you pick the nuts off the tree before the Irenicus battle, or the screen flicks when you open a door?
I just don't think it's something we can really expect
