UI spell slots?

On the in game user interface there are spell slots (much like weapon slots), how are these utilized? Thanks, and I'm on an IPad if that makes a difference.

To use this buttons (called Quick Spells) you have to tap and hold it, released it and your memorised spell will show, select one of them and it will take the place of the Quick Spells button.(it is just a short cut to this spell).

/!\ Once you finish the manipulation the spell is active, and is waiting a target. To turn off it just tap on this short cut.

Not exactly on-topic, but related. I'd just take the opportunity to say that the quick spell slots are still the weakest link for BG UI. How I wish they can be expanded or revamped to accommodate more spells. In this times, I'd be glad if someone would point out that I'm wrong and the UI is not just limited to a very few slots.

You can also right click on it and it brings up your spells, then just click the spell you want to go into the slot. This also makes the spell active, I believe, so just cancel the casting. This is just on a PC, I don't know if you were referring to a different device or not.

The words "I'm on an Ipad" in the original post should have clued you into the fact that the poster isn't a PC user :P

You're only sort of wrong. I believe modifying the location and number of buttons was probably prohibited by Overhaul's contract, but you could probably do this by hacking the .exe file or using a third-party utility like ToBex.

EDIT: Although hacking the .exe file is probably unwise at this point unless you really know what you're doing.
