Black Pits strange issue (possible spoilers for those not started BP yet)

So I thought I'd give the Black Pits a spin and rolled up 6 characters and started the first fight which was all normal. But then when Baeloth is talking and tells his Djinn servant to give you some money, the Djinn didn't appear and everyone just stood around, I had no cursor and no interface menus. So I bombed out the game and reload this time still no Djinn, money or menus but I did have a cursor so I started the next fight but the interface menus still didn't reappear?
Has anyone else had a similar issue?

    This happened to me the very first time I played the EE; the game is hanging during a cutscene. I believe I quit the game, cleared any folders marked CACHE in the game directory, fired it up and it was fine.

    Are you using a fully patched game? The only time it ever happened to me was when the EE first came out.

    Yeah it's fully patched running through the Beamdog client.

    It happened to me once, the only real solution I could figure was to start a new game, one the next run the scene happened normally, something somewhere is causing the Djinn to have a chance to never appear and the game waits for him.

    I had it before the last update, but even before the gibberlings. I was never transported to the merchant area after the very first intro fight. Starting new game helped.

    Yesterday, I had a small quirk - after the fight against the adventurers from Thay, Baeloth appeared, said his lines, then just stood around. I tried talking to him and he "appeared busy", tried to attack him, stayed non-hostile, tried to talk again - delivered same lines, then transported me out.

    it happened to me once too, i quit and used the auto-save. lost out on the first 2.5k of gold, no biggy

    Yeah I deleted my save and started again, everything was fine the second time round.
