Mysterious scroll found as loot

I've seen a bit of random loot recently, and was wondering when/why it was added and if there's any greater purpose to it?

It's a scroll reading "Why does a chair have arms and legs like a man but cannot walk or hold things?" It sells for 100 GP.

I've found this twice - on the ghoul at the end of the Nashkel Mines, and on a random flind near High Hedge.

I think it's just an easter egg and it's not of any real use other than worth 100GP. I just found it too and sold it.

It's always been in the game, according to legend. They may have upped the droprate in BG:EE though, as I now find 1-2 per playthrough as opposed to 0 in dozens of playthroughs in Vanilla/Tutu/BGT.

As soon as you pick it up, pause. Open the CLUA console, close it, then open it again. Type "Gygax is King", hit enter, then immediately close your game. Open the 2000 edition of Microsoft Word, then compose two poems in iambic pentameter and one in iambic tetrameter. Illegally download the first full season of Suits, and watch all episodes in reverse order without turning off your computer. Change your desktop to an image of Gandalf doing the "You shall not pass!" line, but photoshop the trollface over his staff while he does it. Then boot up your game again.

When you start your game back up, you will be able to sell the scroll for 100 gold coins.

Actually, I find that assorting the icons on your desktop fresco-style to appear as a trollface works better than the other methods.
