Denouement of Chapter 5

Now I don't know whether it was intentional to make the battle at the top of ITHQ optional or not, but at the moment when Eltan asks you to find evidence of the Iron Throne's involvement with the iron crisis and the caravan raids, all you have to do is to set foot in the building and nothing else. On returning to Eltan you get the option to tell him that Rieltar and Brunos are at Candlekeep and then he teleports you there. The only way you can possibly know this is by talking to Thaldorn on the 5th floor or by taking the documents at the back of the 5th floor.

So I suppose this is a request to make a visit to the 5th floor compulsory to get the evidence and end the chapter. You could always have someone sneak past Cloudwife et al if you really don't don't want to fight them.

(I always found it strange that you could walk though the front door of ITHQ at any time in chapter 5 anyway, and also note that there is an entrance from the sewers - was this at one stage in development the only way in?).

Hmm. This almost seems more like a bug fix than a feature request. I had no idea that you didn't need to get the documents.

Yeah maybe the fight was meant to be optional, but surely not getting the actual evidence because then Eltan teleporting you to Candlekeep makes no sense. And you do need evidence for other quests eg Bassilus' and Mulahey's holy symbols. Can't speak for BGT but Tutu is much the same.
