No. Bas is silly, but Minsc is moronic. I admit that his BG2 portrait (and the artastrophe one) is sinilar looking, but I've always felt that they were a bit out of character. Minsc is supposed to be young, while he sounds and looks almost middle aged.

Well, apart from debating the essential difference between silly and moronic, I will just put forth my opinion that Bas is as close to a combined physical, mental and spiritual doppelganger to Minsc as any other real person is to any other fictional character I have ever seen.
I think we also need to distinguish between moronic and partially brain-damaged. Remember that most comments about what Minsc thinks of Boo remark that Minsc has probably taken a few too many blows to the head as he has a habit of not wearing a helm.
MMA is what got me interested in kickboxing. I always had an interest but Dynamite! 2008 is what sold it for me.
On a CRPG note, while I did enjoy Bas, Minsc, HK-47, etc. I got very sick of the "whacky/silly/funny" characters in games a long time ago and the obsessive love they get years on does grind.
When you go to a new place & make new friends, it gets a tad tiresome when you meet socially and they all insist on pretending to be Bas Rutten. I put up with it because can you blame people when they get introduced to MMA/Minsc/[insert favourite oddball character here] and they actually make the effort to work their way through the things you love, enjoying the same things you did? Igor Vovchanchyn* retired not long after I got into mma, but for a long time he was my 'favourite'** fighter.
I suspect Bas Rutten will still be funny in 2020. Even my Old KB Coach, who had WuShu background couldn't help mentioning Bas Rutten's demos...
**Other Kazushi Sakuraba. I have one of those yellow walkout shirts he wore when he fought Kestutis Smirnovas - of course watching any Saku fight has a certain horrid, hollow disappointment to it these days.
