Me and my mate can't get multiplayer working. Can you help?

Me and my old buddy from college got this game on Steam but being the technologically illiterate blokes that we are we can't figure out how to get the multiplayer working. We've tried doing direct connection to IP but that simply didn't work. Is anyone able to help??

    If you want to add me on skype (Stargazer5781) we have a BG:EE multiplayer chat room set up. We do multiplayer every day and help each other troubleshoot. I'm sure I or someone in there could take a few minutes to help you figure it out if Moonbow's suggestions weren't enough for you.

    Already sweet! We'll give it another go when we're next both free and I'll keep you folks posted on how it goes. Thanks for the advice, Moonbow! Stargazer hopefully if we can get this working either of us might grab a game with you some time and Jalily I made it a poll because I could. :P
