Assassin / Blackguard Poison Strength Progression?

Does anyone know how the Assassin / Blackguard Poison *Strength* Progression works? Also, it the progression the same for both kits?

The manual only says what the initial effect is i.e.

Each successful hit within the next round will inject poison into the target, dealing an extra 2 points of damage per second with no Saving Throw (for a total of 12 points of damage). Moreover, if the target fails a Saving Throw vs. Poison, he will suffer 1 additional point of damage per round for 4 rounds thereafter.

According to the Chris Lee's excellent Thief guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/470765-baldurs-gate-ii-throne-of-bhaal/faqs/27550ttp:/www.gamefaqs.com/pc/470765-baldurs-gate-ii-throne-of-bhaal/faqs/27550 ):

(I think this from level 5 or 6):
Can coat weapon in poison, meaning that in the next 24 seconds, any hits will cause 6 damage to be dealt over 6 seconds for 30 seconds [this doesn't make sense! - Oxford_Guy], Save vs. Death to 6 total damage over 6 seconds.

In addition, the effect strengthens as the Assassin gains levels:

At 10th level, this changes to 30 damage over 14 seconds (Save for 6 damage over 2 seconds). So, it's roughly twice as fast, damage-wise.

At 15th level, this changes to 42 over 14 seconds (Save for 12 damage over 4 seconds). So, it's roughly three times as fast as normal poison, in addition to being more damaging. In addition, the enemy must Save vs. Death or be slowed for 30 seconds.

The 6 one means it only deals 1 damage per second for 1 round if they save, instead of one damage per second for the next 5 rounds if they fail. 6 seconds = 1 round. (Could've been worded a little better I agree)

The pre-6 version, deals an additional 1 damage per round, if they fail. So 13 the first round, and then 1 per round for the next 3 if they failed.

The lvl 10 version also deals 6 damage on a successful save, but does 3 damage per second for 2 seconds, make it hit the same, but faster. The 15 version does the same, but has an additional 2 ticks.

the 12 poison damage always happens over 1 round, it's the extra dot effect that becomes stronger/faster. That means if the 6 version saves, it deals 18 damage in that round instead of just 12, and if they fail, they take 6 damage more (1 per second) for the next 4 rounds after the first round.

The 10 and 15 versions deal their extra damage out much faster then the pre-10 versions do and are slightly stronger as well.

    Thanks for clarifying @ZanatahKariashi !

Blackguards and Assassins use the same Poison Weapon ability.
