Icewind Dale Multiplayer

A few folks and I just started a multiplayer game of Icewind Dale. We spent a couple hours fiddling with Hamachi, UPnP settings, port forwarding, and everything else you might try with little success. Finally we tried using Gameranger and it works fine.

Invite everyone into the room, host the game, make sure everyone has "leader" permissions enabled so they can make characters, and you should be golden. Also make sure you have the same version, including mods. Figured I'd post here to let everyone know so anyone else who wants to play doesn't have to reinvent the wheel.

Have fun :)

It's true! I was one of 'em.

GameRanger is GREAT (wayy better than himachi in my opinion) in setting up any Infinity Engine games outside of BG:EE(not supported... Yet).

IWD 1&2, BG 1&2 all worked great for me and most of my friends. (admittedly just a friend or two ever had any problems, but was specific to a single one of the games)

Are you talking about the mac version of Icewind dale or pc? I own both and would love to try multiplayer with some people but the Mac version is nearly impossible to find nowadays which is a shame for new players that might be interested.

EDIT: I wish I could delete this I didn't even realize GameRanger offered PC support (yes, its been that long). Shoot me a PM if you're ever setting up a game. If I can find time I'd love to run through that with people.
