Rassad not showing new area after city fight

I had Rassad in the party, we met the 1st encounter in Baldurs Gate city with the 3 guys. Killed them then got the note on the tavern- went to the tavern and got story teleported to the house. Went and killed the guys on 1st and second floor got the note on the Clouds Peak mountains... and then went to Nashkill Mine area and tried to go north- no new map content...
I think maybe I missed some guy in the house there... where is the location of the double cross ambush house the guy takes you to? I think perhaps I did not explore/kill all the guys there... but I did get note mentioning bring the corpse to the clods keep mountains...

not sure what I am missing... any suggestions...

    When you read the note did it give you a message that your map was updated? Also, you have to travel south from Nashkel mines to get there and it's in the very bottom right corner of your world map. I had problems getting it to reveal to, but my issue was because somehow I didn't get the note -

    Ok went back to the room in the Flamer fist Area map.... far south house - dropped the note picked it up again- incidently there were the stupid thoeves who ambush me in the same house (an old orginal quest from bg1) and WALLLAAA the map appears in blue color when I am next click to the border-(I know it was not there before as I was trying my best to find it and it was not blue... I have to say this is a bug perhaps I should report it but apparently it is a known bug already.... I personally loath the wishy washy monk - at least Keldorn the Lawful Legality Pali would go full bore and hang his wife for stabbing behind his back... Rassad seems like a big wuss... and as it is (I suppose this should go to the bug forum to but it is a known one) he retardedly rushes into close combat range when I arm his unarmored fragile girl body with a sling.... where dorn is nasty and wrecks my goody get along gang rep - at lest he can take a smack or two in his armor.... Rassad only use for me is to open up the new area so I can get the 'cursed' belt there...

    To the best of my knowledge, this would only be happening if a default script is turned on for him. You can turn it off in his Character Record page via Customize > Scripts. Set scripts to none. Then you'll have full control over him.

    Also, another possibility is that you might have forgotten to select the sling, even if it is equipped. If Rasaad's fist is highlighted with a green border on the actions bar at the bottom of the UI, then you're choosing to use his fists even if he has a sling equipped in his inventory.
