Mod request: RP legit use of Xan's Moonblade
Anyone up for creating a mod including a story for Xan that may result in Xan somehow passing on his Moonblade in a way that fits with FR canon without being too imba, OP or cheesy?
Possible ideas that could be combined:
Conclusion of a longish romance (as long as its available in BG1 I'm okay but generally after arriving in BG)
Use requires Xan to remain in party (sword is just on loan)
Requires successful reactions checks with the sword (as its intelligent)
Must be elf/half-elf
Requires completion of some task for Greycloaks
The Moonblade absorbs some of your bhaal powers
Reading "http://www.gibberlings3.net/readmes/readme-bg1npc.html" suggests that a quest and romance already exists.
Reading "http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Moonblade" suggests that it is possible for a half-elf to wield a Moonblade. Additionally, it is possible for a Moonblade to be swayed from its purpose through divine intervention putting it within the powers of a bhaalspawn. Xan only needs to be close to it but doesn't have to actually wield it all the time.
It would actually be an awesome twist on such a mod to include an evil option conclusion when you kill Xan with his own Moonblade after manipulating him into helping you unlock it's power, now that would be evil. Though the good conclusion where you romance him and "hold his sword" works too.
Then it's just the trick of thinking of a decent sequence of events that might lead to the desired outcome. Perhaps the sword senses the bhaal power. Perhaps some situation requires some transfer of power either to protect charname from something or something similar?

So I guess it would have to be something pretty special for it to bond with someone else.
A mode like it could be a very nice addition to the game though.
