If you betray him by letting the guard search the house during the first thief quest and then go back to the Thieves' Guild to talk to him, he challenges you/your thief alone to a duel to the death, saying that the other thieves will get involved if your party members help. He doesn't turn hostile, nor attack, and attacking him sets the thieves' guild onto you. Maybe this is the intended behaviour but it certainly goes against what the dialogue suggests.

So he doesn't try to attack your thief? That is what he should be doing.

If possible can you upload your save file here and I could take a look.

:/ sorry, I only have save files of a rather empty thieves guild now, I just slaughtered them and went on with things. You probably don't have much use for a later save?

Nope, not really :/ Is your thief single or multi/dual class?

Mage/Thief, SK-edited to be an Assassin/mage. I wondered if that had anything to do with the issue it since unlike BG2, this seems to bug slightly, they end up getting specialist mage bonus spells and no skills penalty. It seemed like that was the limit of it though.

You are the first to mention this bug so for now let's assume the SK edit messed things up.
