BG1 EE compatible with original BG2?

Not sure if this has already been covered, but couldn't find a discussion for it. At any rate, is it known if you can finish BG1:EE and then import that save into vanilla BG2 without causing a whole lot of problems? I ask as I have gotten rather used to playing through BG as a trilogy.

    I'd guess that if you're playing with the new kit that that will definitely be a problem.

    Well, I can see how something like that would induce problems, but assuming you kept it clean and didn't introduce critical character elements?

    I've been thinking about it myself. I suppose it COULD work as long as there is not a radical code change? I am not an expert but I have exported BG1 characters with mods into a crystal clear vanilla BG2. So I guess it depends on how different the game is.

    I believe they stated that it would not be possible to use regular characters in BGEE, so I assume it wouldn't work
