Polymorph Other Improper kill

This is a glitch that is similar to a glitch I found earlier involving a wild surge and being polymorphed into a squirrel. My dragon disciple used Polymorph Other on an Ice Salamander and it turned into a normal squirrel. Meaning it no longer registered as an ice salamander. I think that if I were in the normal campaign I would not get the appropriate experience or drops for killing whatever I just turned into a squirrel.
