I had been saving some App Store credits I got with my new laptop since last September to buy this game, but with so many delays I just didn't trust it would get done in a timely fashion, so I bit the bullet and bought it directly from them. I'm sure I'll find something else I'd like to buy from the app store eventually so I guess it's not that big a deal, but I'm surprised reading through some of the comments in other threads how many people think it's an entitled attitude to be disappointed that they STILL haven't gotten the game onto the App Store yet. I understand that it's preferable for them to wait to release a complete product that they are happy with even if it means a delay, but the problem is that they made promises that were ultimately impossible for them to keep. They should have been much more self aware about their progress on the game and thus much more cautious about asserting with certainty that the game would be released to the app store in SEPTEMBER. It's not unreasonable for people to be upset that they failed so hard at delivering on that promise...it's been half a year and it's still not up.
That said, I'm LOVING the game so far. I bought Shadows of Amn when I was in middle school and played the crap out of it, but never went back and played the first game, partially because I love playing sorcerers, and having played with high level characters my younger self thought going back to low level wouldn't be fun; thankfully I was wrong! I've only played as a chaotic neutral dragon disciple so far twith an evil party: Imoen, Kagain, Dorn, Viconia and Edwin. I'm hoping to keep that party for the rest of my first play through, so long as I can keep Edwin and Viconia playing nice with one another. It's hard for me to remember to be mad at Beamdog for making me wait so long when I'm loving their game so much :P
I took this as possibly being a metadata rejection. Your app can be rejected for stuff not following guidelines in app description, ratings, etc. all the stuff that supports the app submission.
I could be wrong though 'text' hinted at in the tweet is open ended
You're probably right. Good news is turnaround time is fast for these types of fixes.
The Beamdog version is a wonderful, self contained, piece of work. As already stated, the game keeps track of updates by itself, presumably apple is as tardy accepting updates as it has been accepting this game for launch?
I would urge anyone to go with Beamdog for those reasons as well as for the wonderful and prompt customer service that they offer. (I made a mistake with my order which they corrected for me within a day)
I wanted leave a positive review in the app store, having been playing the beamdog version for a few days now, and it won't let me because I didn't buy it from the app store. Weaksauce.

Well how can be your review valid if you didn't buy the app. You could be using a pirate copy or just be a troll. I think that is sensible. You could rate it at beamdog though.
Have a look at Amazon and the high rated reviews of products that are not yet produced. I am still wondering if those people use tea leaves in a cup, tarot card or a crystal ball for divination.
Multilang but bad implemented. The app simply use english instead of asking the system what language is used. There is no dialog for this either. You have to find the settings on you own.
Same with MAS entry. just english worldwide, while the app self offers a lot more languages.
@devs: You will rise your sales if you offer localized App-Store texts and your App should start with the OS language (english being de-fault then) and respect the language the user choses manually afterwards if he ever does. See NSLocale for details. regards
@Codebaker those are both great points. I'll pass them along.
Thank you, you are welcome. Same would work for the iOS version to.
I did notice the iOS App Store Badge on the website. You web team did use the print badge, not the web version. The badge for prints just informs that the app is available, but the web version animates to download it.
And I know that Beamdog is a favorite, but there is a download on Mac App Store Badge to. I think two badges (apple and beam dog) would go well together. That way everyone may choose freely.
@TheCrownedOne Yup. The BGEE versions are different in different app stores. And they differently priced due to different content. The ipad version does not contain the new characters or portraits BUT If you buy the mac/pc version of the game you (sorta) get the DLCs on your iPad for free. But you have to activate/aquire it on your mac/pc first.

Apple web site: "Processing for App Store. Appears when your binary is being processed and will be ready for sale within 24 hours."
(I still think you should buy it from Beamdog
And I cannot decide witch class to play...
