AI script / Mage does not compute

in BG:EE Bugs (v1.2)
Hi. I set the Mage to the aggressive script - but he is not casting at all. All he does is to take his staff, hits, and dies. He is able to cast manually though.

Great. I thought the scripts are there to prevent these actions? How can I set them right?
