Number keys don't work anymore

Until today the numberkeys on my MacBook Pro 13" worked perfectly: pressing '1' would select CHARNAME, '2' the second in line etc., in all screens (inventory, record, main game), but suddenly today, they don't work anymore! It seems even the complete numerical line is out, as '-' and '+' don't zoom in/out either!

Is this a known issue? Is there a cure? Does anyone else have this problem?
