It would be pretty cool if I could travel all the lands together like Icewind Dale and Amn/Baldurs Gate. Just cruz around.

That would be so epic.

    Hmm. Apart from Torment, the art style is certainly similar enough that it'd work for BG/ID. Would probably have to be a separate game though. Seeing as Overhaul doesn't currently have the rights to the ID series however, it's not something that can be realistically done... at this time anyway.

    I guess it will have to be a GemRB thing if ever then.

    Given that many have commented on area art and other resources being the biggest obstacles to large-scale mods, it seems like a mod that lets you travel to and explore IWD would be "easier" than starting from scratch.

    I'd rather have that than a direct connection between the two games, personally. Aside from the incompatible timelines, difficulty and level scaling could get really funky if you just jump from one to the other.

    Yeah that is basically what I meant, or time travel and some other multi-generational story glue. The art and what not would be pretty awesome.
