Gnome - Fighter/Illusionist/Thief

Obviously a triple class gnome isn't allowed in BGEE. If I were to use Shadowkeeper to create a 1/1/1 gnome, would I be able to import that character into BG2 or BG2EE? I guess the general question is can you import custom race/class/kits from BG to BG2?

Also, would such a class be better or worse than a straight Fighter/Illusionist? If I want to run a party of 4-6, would the triple class level too slow?

I feel odd making a fighter/mage gnome, as I don't see them as in your face warrior types. Adding thief would make the character more of a backstab/invis/sneaky feel. I would make a Illusionist/Rogue (possibly with a kit), but I hear that their thac0 is too low, hence the need for some fighter levels.

Also, any recommendations for weapons to use would be appreciated. I was thinking staff/short bow.

Tenser's Transformation can help with that, though works better with Bards, who level-up quicker

Im sure you should be able to import it into BG2EE. On a note, you might wish to go fighter/conjurer/thief.. or in my case fighter/conjurer/cleric!

BTW I still think a illusionist/thief of illusionist/fighter would be better than the triple class, you will level very slowly, and even in Throne of Bhaal will only be able cast 6th Level Spells - so no better than a Bard in this respect, and the latter would have a much higher caster level.

you won't find many reasons for using backstabs,so unless for some mysterious reason you have absolutely no thieving skills in your party fighter/illusionist would be plain better imo.

note that fighter/illusionist will have acces in lvl 9 spells at the endgame,so timespot and beating things in mellee will be an option(and it works too well)

This is true with a six player party but you can eventually get 7th and 8th level spells if you go with a small party. I would recommend a small party for any triple class - 4 at the absolute most.

Are you sure? What's the max XP you can get in ToB?
