The "Add" Journal Feature Rocks

I think it really adds to the RP element. There's a lot of things that don't get journal entries for my group (Imoen joining, Shar-Teel joining, Kagain giving up on his caravan search, etc.) that I love to add in with my own alignment twist. Wondering if anyone else is getting creative with such entries.

I did this once, in Baldur's Gate 2. I was playing a warrior, who wrote journal entries like he was writing a saga of his adventures, to be sung by future generations. I felt like such a nerd while writing it, but it was really fun, and gave a bit of depth to my character

Sadly I've lost it all now.

Nothing wrong with a creative outlet. Journal entries, biographies, etc that I've made for BG have given me ideas for AD&D campaigns, stories I want to write, etc.

I wish there were a way to export your journal, or import/export a custom biography for that matter. Using BG's "text editor" for any decent length of time can get quite tedious, especially when you want to copy/paste or rearrange things...

For sure! I take screen shots of entries/biographies so I can re-copy if I ever need to, lol. Its also weird how in the text editor how you can select text but then you can't cut/paste. I mean I guess I wouldn't expect to, but since you can highlight it with your mouse, that's my first inclination... I guess its just for quick deletes of certain sentences.

That would be awesome. I made heavy use of the journal in BG2 and it would have been very helpful to have a button "copy to clipboard" or "extract as text file" or something like that.

In my current game I'm moving back and forth between a Word document and the game.

It definitely increases the immersion for me! I'm into the story itself more than I have ever been.
