No XP for Marek and Lothander Quest (spoilers)

Hi all. I just completed the Marek and Lothander poison quest (or so I think). Lothander approached me to tell me that I'd been poisoned. I freed him from his geas. He gave me his half of the potion and told me where to find Marek. I found Marek and attempted to chat him up, but he spoke without giving me a chance to talk before attacking. Killed him, got his half of the potion... and I did not receive any XP, nor did I get notified that I'd been cured. My journal update basically just says that Marek refused, so I had to kill him for the antidote. Having every party member drink the potion changed nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was under the impression that I was supposed to get a boatload of XP for finishing the quest. Also I don't want to die of poison in ten days.

Anyone know how to check in the CLUAConsole to see if I'm still poisoned?

Your supposed to die after 10 days, I think. So you could always rest till then and see.

I rested 40ish times and didn't die... but I want that 10k XP too... And I want the peace of mind that would come with being told I'm not sick, just in case I drop dead in the Undercity.

Is there no longer an XP bonus for finishing the quest?

Yes, I've got both.

I just did the quest and received 1500xp when i talked to Lothander and nothing when i fought Marek (except the kill xp), which i think is the normal reward.

Did you get a message saying that you were cured?

@Dux89 Do you have a save file just before speaking to Marek? If so, can you upload it here.

There are like 200 items within the save folder--which do you want?
Also, is it acting incorrectly or does one not actually get that XP/is there not supposed to be any "you've been cured" text?

When you pick up the potion you automatically drink it and get cured. It will display "you've been cured" above your head and you should also receive 10000 XP.

Are you using a windows/mac/ipad system?

Is it possible that I never got poisoned in the first place? Also, looks like user Noon has the same thing happening.

Unfortunately I'll not be able to check your save as I'm using windows - and those save files generally have only a few files.

Anyway, you got poisoned - otherwise you would never have gotten as far as killing Marek. What I want you to try. Remove Marek's potion. Go back to ar0115 - The area you killed Marek. Then once you are there CLUAConsole:CreateItem("POTN47",10) and tell me what happens.

Assuming ar0115 is the second floor of the Blushing Mermaid, when I entered that into the Console, another "Marek's Potion of Antidote" shows up in my PCs inventory. Nothing else happens. Nothing happens to the "Marek's Potion of Antidote" or the "Lothander's Potion of Antidote" that is already in my possession. No XP or text.

And just so that you have all the info, before I initiate dialog with Marek, my journal says, "Lothander gave me half the antidote and sent me to the Blushing Mermaid Inn to collect the other half from Marek."

I initiate dialogue with Marek and he says, "So you've come, I assume, to take the antidote. All you're going to accomplish is to hasten your death, but I think that isn't the foremost worry you have at the moment." I am not presented with dialog options, only the "End Dialogue" button. Then we fight.

After I kill Marek, I receive 650 XP and my journal updates to "Marek thought he could refuse to hand me the antidote that would save my life from the poison. He should have had an antidote to save his own life from me." Nothing else happens.

Have you checked your Journal? Is the poison quest in the completed section? or still active?

I've honestly no idea why that is happening. Very strange. In any case, using this should at least keep your from dying in 10 days. SetGlobal("PartyCured","GLOBAL",1)

Like I said, I don't die in ten days. And honestly, I'm just about to finish the game anyway. But that xp...

Is there any way to check what PartyCured is set to?

Dying after ten days only happens if your A.I. is on (or if you rearrange your party, which temporarily flips it on).

What would PartyCured look like if I were still poisoned? 0?

I'm standing right next to a very alive Marek with Lothander's half of the potion in my inventory. PartyCured is 1. I reloaded a save from a few hours before. Same thing. Seems like I never actually got poisoned?

Mmm. Set the partycured to 0. Then kill Marek and loot the potion. Destroy the existing Marek potion before you do this. Hopefully this will give you your xp reward.

You are probably getting really tired of this by now.

Nah it isn't a big deal, I've beaten this game 5+ times so I'm taking a random dual class combo through for fun's sake and enjoying the faster load times. A bug here and there is whatever.

Should I report it in the bugs section? I wonder if other's are having the same problem.

Setting to 0 and killing Marek worked btw. Also, I reloaded a past save pre-Lothander's poison revelation, went to BG Central and talked to him to start the quest, and checked the Global: 1. It seems I'm poison-proof?

Did you by any chance do this quest in Chapter 7? You're automatically cured by Tethtoril when you talk to him in Chapter 6.

A bit late to answer, but i did get the cure, everything worked normally for me.

Bingo. Chapter 7. I guess that's what's throwing it off. Oh well, I'll take my 600ish xp and move on with life. Just means I'll have to fight one or two more sizable battles to hit the cap ha.
