Bug: The bottomless Chest in Beregost, Ankheg Shells for the Masses??

I don't know how to report this and being a complete Newbe where Computers are concerned will probably not have much info to pass on.

In the Safe House in Beregost I had X Ankheg Shells stored. More than my party could carry at one time to the Smithy. It seemed to have respawned some 6-7 Shells each time when I returned. Finally I cleaned out the Chest leaving 4 Shells on the floor before going to the Smithy.

Actually, I have not opened the Chest again to see whether that brought closure. Wound up with @10 more Shells than I could possibly have collected... Cheers!

There are 'safe houses' in this game?

Wow, did I waste a ton of Ankheg shells...

I wonder if that chest is linked to Thunderhammer's inventory.

Which house is your "Safe House"?

I'd guess Borlands house across from Red Sheaf

Directly across from Red Sheaf Inn. Talk to the Commoner inside and he says he makes his home avaiable as a Crash Pad on a trust basis. Storage Chest is in the other room.

I did the Ankheg Map in three parts, first harvesting according to Gerde's instructions as much as I could carry then returning to do the Fishermen and Tenya Quest, then later on finding Brun's son in the Ankheg Nest.

Wanted @16 Ankheg Shells as I am minimizing Looting, etc

Interesting. Might want to change the category of your post to "BG:EE Bugs"

Playing Baldur's Gate Complete. Planning on getting BG:EE for next run.

Just to let you know, you can actually store items in pretty much any container. Even a random barrel on the side of the street will work just as well as the chest in the "safe house", as long as you remember which barrel it is.

Ah, @Eadwyn_G8keeper, I didn't realise that you were still in original BG1. Yes, there was a known bug which sometimes caused the contents of containers to respawn after you took (some of) the contents out, I remember it happening to me occasionally. (I particularly recall a container in the Elfsong Tavern which seemed to do that quite often, although that may have been an artefact of randomness.)

So far as I know, that old bug is not present in BGee.

I use Borland's house all the time in BGEE and have not noticed any oddness with the containers in this version. What I like about Borland's house is that you can sleep in it for free, which you can't do with the other houses.
