Hey everyone,
I have some friends coming over for the weekend and we were going to try and play multiplayer with an iPad, Mac, and pc. Does anyone know if this is possible yet using the IP address option to connect?
Any insight is much appreciated,
Thanks

I was able to host multiplayer with both my iPad and my Mac with a friend on a PC. I needed to set up port forwarding with my Airport Express to make it work (thankfully, not too difficult). If you're on an internal network, that may or may not be necessary.
@grakkel I think the cable modem is Ubee and the wireless router is a netgear. Don't know much about either I just went with what comcast gave me..for better or for worse i suppose
This site might help you find how to change the necessary settings for your netgear router.
The basic theory is that you:
A) Associate an internal IP address with the MAC address of the device that is going to be the host. (MAC address is just the unique identifier for your device on the network; has nothing to do with Macs or Apple.)
Set the router to listen to a particular port (47630) and forward all traffic coming into that port to the newly assigned internal IP address.
At least that's my understanding of what's going on.
