Dorn Rep

Hey, is it possible to stop Dorn leaving the party without lowering rep?
Always play a good party but this is my first playthrough so picked up all the new characters, stopped playing since Dorn keeps walking off, bit inconvenient.
Any mod that changes it perhaps?
Thanks in advance!

BG2 tweaks has a component that allows you to stop characters leaving due to reputation, I believe.

Also, if you can get the cursed helm of opposite alignment then you can put that on him.

All of the Evil characters (except Baeloth, I think) will walk out the instant your rep exceeds 18.

If you want Evil characters in your party, you have to play sufficiently evil that your rep doesn't rise too high - so yes, that can sometimes require careful management unless you're playing a slaughter-everything-that-moves axe-maniac.

If you want to play Mr. Nice-Guy and max your rep throughout, then Dorn is not for you. This is intentional. Nevertheless, in a Good party it's fairly easy to keep Dorn for long enough to complete his quest and get the rewards and equipment before your rep goes too high for him - you just need to leave some of the rep-boosting side-quests until after you've finished with Dorn. Then max your rep after dropping him.

A mod could change this behaviour, but I reckon that'd really be more of a cheat than a legitimate mod.

It's a great mechanic that makes plenty of sense don't get me wrong; I've completed Baldur's Gate plenty of times though and for my first playthrough of the enhanced ed. I just want to try the new characters, I'm not fussed about it making sense in-character. (Cheats hacks all fine for this purpose) Just want to get a look at all the new guys in one go.

I will look at the tweaks pack, thanks; The helm also sounds good, where can that be picked up?

If you also have Viconia in your party, you can keep your reputation at 18 more or less. Save before turning in any quest in case it increases your reputation past 18. If it does, reload, fire Dorn and then fire Viconia. Turn in the quest(s). Dropping Viconia will have raised your reputation to 20. Then re-hire her (you'll be lowered to 18 again) and Dorn.

You must kill the Demon Knight during his first appearance in Durlag's Tower.

Honestly... if you want to just enjoy the game with the party of your choosing and don't want to deal with alignment/rep issues wouldn't Shadow Keeper modifying their alignments be the simplest way as soon as you get them? Then you can just enjoy the game on your terms without worrying about anyone leaving
