How do strength & dexterity affect throwing daggers & axes?

I remember reading in the original BG manual that strength bonuses were factored into the use of thrown weapons like daggers and axes. Does this only apply to the damage modifier, or does strength also affect the THAC0 of these weapons? Does dexterity still affect the use of these weapons as well?

I would imagine that Strength affects it like any other weapon when used as a melee weapon and Dex like any ranged weapon when thrown.

To the best of my knowledge:
DEX affects your "to hit" chances with any ranged weapon. STR does not affect your "to hit" chances with ranged weapons.
Regarding ranged weapons, strength only gives bonus damage to slings, throwing daggers, and throwing axes.

STR adds a damage bonus to thrown weapons and slings if its high enough. DEX improves your THAC0 with those weapons.

There are missile weapons and hurled missile. Missile only receive DEX to hit. Hurled missile receive DEX to hit and STR to damage. Throwing axes, daggers, and slings are hurled missile.

I never realized strength affected sling damage as well.
