More internal struggles and choices determine reward

Another story-related aspect that could be expanded upon is the internal struggle aspects and the NPC interjections related to this. (I am not talented enough to suggest something “good” here, but a professional developer would be…when you face the darkness be careful you don’t also become the darkness; know who you are!). Perhaps the protagonist could change somehow (e.g. stat or special ability) depending on the choice made, at an appropriate stage of the game? Instead of dreaming and getting a special ability, the player’s choice would affect what ability is awarded. This is of course along the lines of the “Nine Hells” portion of BG2. Push the envelope of challenging the player to show who they really are!

The ability is already determined by your choices; just not clearly within the dream itself. It's based on your reputation and/or alignment.
I wouldn't mind a little mini-quest for the dreamscape where you have to complete a minor objective and the way you complete it determines the reward you receive. But I don't think it's going to happen (cf. "new content").

Yeah have to agree, would be tinkering with 'old content' too much to be permisible for Overhaul. Would love to see more substantive dream sequences though.
