Quick way to get through Candlekeep intro chapter with all XP

Gear up from Winthrop, head straight to the south of town, do the party combat training right away.

One of the temporary party members has a Potion of Speed. You can't take it with you, but if you quaff it while you're in the combat training, it will remain effective even after you leave the training. Do the rest of the quests from there before heading off with Gorion. The effects will disappear on leaving Candlekeep though.

Um.... Isn't the "Total" XP for Candlekeep in the 200 or less range? In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if you miss out on 10-15 XP? it really isn't going to break your experience. All IMHO.

I don't like Ankheg. Too fishy for my tastes. Now Wyvern meat tastes like chicken if you cook it right. :)

The mod "Sword Coast Strategies" has an option to allow your PC to skip Candlekeep but get all the XP as if you'd done it.

The total XP you can get from candlekeep without farming kobolds and stuff with the adventure party is 522 with a mage/thief. This is in BGEE/trilogy where you get 10 xp for learning a spell and 10 xp per lock you pick.

Um, Ok. 200-522. I just wasn't understanding the mind set of completing that first chapter 'Fast' and reconciling that with 'having to get ALL of the XP'. These two seem anathema "To me". But to each their own I guess. It's all good.

I can understand where you're comming from, but some people prefer to do everything possible. The xp you get from candlekeep isn't going to change anything once you get outside. If you get 200, 300 or even 500 it's only going to put on another minute or two before you reach level 2. I get everything done myself in candlekeep because i'm a perfectionist, and everytime i play with a none rogue i cry a little tear for the gem i can't get on the second floor of the Inn. :)

Oh, don't get me wrong. I do it all (at least as much of it as I know about and have the skills for) because of the completionist in myself. I don't generally play a thief, so I probably miss out on "All of that extra XP". But hey....

And if people have fun doing that 'As fast as possible', more power to em. I just was curious.
