Can't move cursor when holding Tab

Sorry if this has already been brought up somewhere, but I couldn't find anything. I'm having an annoying problem where I cannot move my cursor when I hold down the Tab key to highlight items on the ground. I'm using a laptop that has a dual graphics cards, but I have the game set to use the Nvidia card. I'm also using the touchpad to move the cursor and have the Steam version. Anyone else have this problem or know of a work around? Thanks.
