I've asked this before and not gotten a very good answer, but, what is the benefit of installing game code/mods with WEIDU? Does it pull updated files out of the game, then patch mods into them for override, rather than just using older game files included with the mod?
Almost any kind of bug-fix or game addition can be applied in this more surgical way (except low-level game-engine stuff or graphics stuff)... and, with former modders working with the team, they know that. So why are we bludgeoned by inelegant game patches?
I think the hope is that someday there won't need to be any more patches to BGEE because it will be good to go. This day is kinda far away at this point. A problem is that they added new features (new classes) then that introduced a whole bunch more bugs on top of the bugs that were already outstanding.
