Baldurs Gate 1 to 2 import - Mage and Sorcerer

Hey. I've just been playing around with the non-enhanced edition and got around to doing my solo mage run and have decided to import it from 1 to 2 to carry on the adventure.
Where the warrior is given the option to choose Berserker/Kensai/etc, I am not given the ability to choose Sorcerer.

Does anyone know why this might be? Cheers.

Because Sorceror is not a kit for Mage--they are their own main class, kinda like Barbarians.

But you could go from fighter to barb, that's the weird thing

Barbarian is coded in the game as a Fighter kit, so you can hack it in as a multi-class or dual. Sorcerer, however, is coded as a completely separate class, like Monk.
