Standard Barbarian vs Frenzied Bezerker - Pros and Cons.

Ok, so I'm still looking at options with my Barbarian. I've looked at various options but with his lack of intelligence and wisdom most of the prestige options are out but Frenzied Bezerker is ok. Am I better off staying with a standard barbarian (which a freind of mine said) or would ten levels of f/b be a better option (my character is a 12th level barbarian).
Any help/opinions would be much appreciated.
Oh as an aside my character currently weilds a greataxe, is that a good weapon for him or would something like a bastard sword be better?

    Ok, you can't dual class with barbarian and bezerker? That goes against what I have been reading. I guess I will keep my character as a standard barbarian then.

    Well, and the fact that there are no greataxes in BG.

    No you can't ever dual class Barb and Zerker even with mods. That woulf be a Fighter/Fighter which doesn't exist.

    Sure sounds a lot like this guy is talking about pen and paper. If that is the suggestion I ALWAYS discourage people from taking levels in frenzied zerker. One of two things will happen. Either:

    A. You are going to accidentally kill your party after an encounter and they will hate you.
    B. Your party is going to have to take precautions which could include your spellcasters wasting spell slots to calm you after an encounter. They will still hate you.

    In this game Berserker can dual class, but only into Cleric, Thief or Mage.
    Barbarian cannot dual class at all.

    The Berserker in baldur's gate is not frenzied. He's a more mello Berserker than you get in 3E.
