Great discount on Elven mail +1 and Katana +2 in Sendai's Enclave

It's incredible to see the amount of stuff you can stack from the encounters inside Sendai's enclave...

I guess I have looted more than 30 elven chain mail (and more if I waited for the respawn of monsters) and almost 50 Katana +2 (since they often dual wield them.

That's in these occasion you're really going to hate the opportunity of looting all the stuff your opponents wear.

On one hand, you'll want to stock as much gold as possible, on the other hand, it is quite tedious to loot all the stuff :p

And I have not mentioned the magic swords and crossbow that are on the slaves and other drows ...

TOB is more than epic. I would love a mod that decreased epicness of BG. Finish BG1 around LV4, BG2 around LV9 and TOB LV 14. Obviously the rest of the game would be scaled to that :)
Same with money and weapons ^_^

On the other hand, it is always fun being so powerful that you could kill a god.

At that point of the game you don't need gold that much anyway. You already have the best armor, robe, weapons etc. Your mages have all the best spells. Your clerics can raise any dead and heal all ailments. You don't need to donate to temple since rep is moot and you can crush any opposition if you are evil anyway. Only Caspenar's recipes require some tribute in gold and they are more of a novelty. In fact finding some gems for the recipes is harder than just giving the gold.

That's right. That's why the best solution is to keep the gems as early as SoA so you don't have to find them in ToB to use the recipe, since you have already found some.

As someone who has DMed multiple DnD games and played them as well I'll just say this. The game, no matter the edition, gets silly at higher levels. Hence the +2 weapons everywhere, yet every player plans for high levels and wants to someday reach level 20.

I try to stick to level 10ish when I can.

I download the xp mod, which decreases the quest xp to 10% of the original value, thus keeping you from advancing to level 20 too soon.

I really don't care of become overpower or with the ammount of itens on the ground if the challenge is appropriate, but ToB was a lazy work, they just send some endless ammount of enemies mobs against the party with some medium to good equipment (which aren't going to be used, as the party already has a godlike set of equipment normally) and then you finish the game.

ToB sucks. I have only played it once.
Now a days I stop after SoA and make up the rest of the story in my mind. I have a vivid imagination and can do good story telling, so I lay down on my sofa and think of how my latest CHARNAME would face the mysterius hooded guys around the table.

btw - I hope that Adventure Y is finding out that ToB was only a dream and that you wake up with out your immunity to +1 weapons. Seriously

ToB as the serie finale, had the obligation of heat the history. It does not suck, but surely is a lasy work. Too much is missing there, so much lacks that could be filled, the battles are boring, we don't need to catch better equipments (with exceptions) or Gold, and the forthcoming of the end doesn't bring any aspect of surprise, revelation or excitment.

    We know
    Amelissan
is an enemy, and an important one, from the very start, for so stupid and lazy was her integration on the game was.

Heating the story, yes. Burn it like a roast pig? No.

    imho the last part sucks.

I think D&D in general becomes boring and quite pointless once you reach the high levels. At a certain point everyone *needs* to be packed with powerful magic items. I prefer low to mid-level play. :)

BG:EE is being a lot boring atm for me, unfortunally. I think it's not the high level that make something boring, but maybe the end comming, who knows.
