    While this works in theory, I feel it should be pointed out that 1) this goes against the wishes of the people who own the franchise, obeying the letter of the contract while thoroughly violating its spirit, 2) said owners have lots of money and lots of lawyers, and 3) even if the 1-2 combo doesn't sink the EEs, Baldur's Gate Next would undoubtedly die as a result.

    In short, great idea, but wouldn't end well.

    The interactions with new content, such as new areas and npcs, is allowed under the contract, but simply adding conversations that don't pertain directly to new content is not. The devs have said as much on multiple occasions. So as I said, even if this worked the ramifications would be severe.
