After reading the thread I started on things that people want in BG2 that they know won't happen I'm a bit curious what people want the move, so I decided to make a poll. If nothing else, it can tell would be modders whats most wanted.

To me, as almost-exclusively evil player (1 exception as neutral/druid), it's an immersion breaker that the game assumes I finished BG1 with Khalid and Jaheira (charname either turns them down or actively helps Xzar and Montaron to kill them), Minsc and Dynaheir (who are both long dead, both killed by charname - Dynaheir for Edwin, Minsc after an unfortunate 'misunderstanding' and an 'accidental' attack from Oublek - even if Minsc wasn't killed, he would have been arrested and rot in a prison) and Imoen (though in her case, it's neccessary for the plot).
Shar-Teel and Branwen can both fill in the warrior role Minsc has in the current party, their personalities allow for the same gimmick to free them from the cage and their alignments make them likely choices for the respective charnames in BG1. It would add tons to the immersion to have at least ONE NPC I actually finished BG1 with in the dungeon. As far as charname is concerned, these people he wakes up with are complete strangers, dead or long abandoned reminders of a former life, not the fireforged friends their dialogues paint them as. This is epsecially immersion-breaking because the two people I did travel with; Edwin and Viconia, do not recognize charname. It's like waking up in a dungeon on Opposite Day.
So, the thing I want most that I know won't happen:
Neutral charname has Jaheira, Branwen, Imoen and dead Khalid in the dungeon.
Evil charname has Shar-Teel, Imoen, Eldoth and dead Skie in the dungeon.
I admit that Eldoth is no perfect fit, as it leaves the evil party without a healer, but at least he can keep up the dead spouse theme. Viconia is already in the game and so is Faldorn (who would make a somewhat better replacement, class-wise), and Branwen, Shar-Teel, Eldoth and Skie are all not even mentioned, so I picked them.
Also give Aerie her wings SO SHE CAN FINALLY SHUT UP!!!
Shar-Teel's presence would also solve the problem of having no evil thief. Even if she was still her old fighter self with BG1 stats, she could be dualed.
Though speaking of things we'd like to have seen, but aren't going to get. I would have liked to have seen both Baldur's Gate games and their add-ons receive a full on remake with this generations capabilities. I would have loved to have a 3D version on current gen computers and consoles.
I can't be the only one who ever wondered as to why not a single tavern, or bar, in either Baldur's Gate games serve locale Faerunian cuisines, right? Gulping down the various existing alcoholic beaverages is a sure way to see CHARNAME & Co. starve to death. At least add official D&D light snacks, such as Waterdhavian, Silver dragon sauces or Sjorl to the menues of the Sword Coast.
I wouldn't mind seeing some cut content restored, like Yoshimo's plot. Other stuff, like giving Aerie her wings back, I'm more dubious about... it would mess up her character development (besides, if you don't want her to talk about her wings, just don't romance her; it's easy).
Hmm... I guess the thing I would like the most would be new quests for some of the existing NPC's. Aerie confronting slavers, and more Imoen.
Remove Mellissan, change final enemy to the avatar of Bhaal, bla bla, read other thread.
