Is there a "modding suite" or an all-around utility such as Near Infinity which works with the EE?

NI is not up to date on the new compression for BAMs, TIS and other file formats.

+DLTCEP is also actualy more user friendly and better organized but it has problems reading some scripts.
I use both. When one fails i use the other.

To me DLTCEP seems more comprehensive and powerful , but the UI is not as "easy" to get around in; more of a learning curve

To my experience, DLTCEP has everything for everyday modding needs en suite.

but, for example, the ACMtoWAV does not work... until the team releases the high-quality OGG we're stuck

It would be nice if Near Infinity would get updated. Its my tool of choice these days when it comes to EE.

I wonder if the author is here :)

@FredRichardson was the last to update NI and make it initially compatible with BGEE. Perhaps he will make a new update. Haven't seen Fred on here since the beginnings of BGEE though

I can also flag @Wisp to ask if there is anything he can do. He can at least comment.

Can do?, yes; will do?, probably not any time soon. I have a bunch of other stuff to take care of first. Edit: if there's anything serious, I can/will deal with it, but updating NI on account of new formats for graphics and sounds is further down on the list of priorities.

AFAIK the new sound files are not recognized. I have not checked for other stuff.

They're in the OGG format now and not WAV.

Is there a way to create innate abilties using DLCTEP that you could add onto characters using EEKeeper?
  • Dark_AnsemDark_Ansem Member Posts: 992
I don't think that can happen..
  • FrecheFreche Member Posts: 473
@Kaltzor, haven't tried it but I would guess it should be possible.
Create a new spell and make it an innate. When done place it in the override folder.
EEKeeper should then find it and you can add it to a character.

any idea how to listen to the audio files?
  • IsayaIsaya Member, Translator (NDA) Posts: 752
The latest beta version of Near Infinity mentionned here is able to play the audio files.
You need Java Runtime Environment 7 to use Near Infinity.

    @Isaya
That's not a beta. It's an alpha version, or possibly pre-alpha. Use at your own risk, etc.
