Probably a common knowledge bug but a search of the forums turned up nothing about it i saw, Sorcerer spells are supposed to be based off of CHA and scale similarly to wizards, however its erroniously attached to int, and does absolutely no benefit to having said int higher than 9 for the basic ability to cast spells and read scrolls.

In the Baldur's Gate series, Int doesn't have any benefit for Mages either aside from improving your chance of scribing scrolls and increasing the max # of spells per level you can learn, neither of which are relevant to Sorcerers. There is no scaling for # of spells you can memorize or max spell level you can cast for either Sorcerers or Mages, so switching the "prime requisite" for Sorcerers from Int to Cha would have no practical effect.
