This will be a work in progress, so please be patient.
(Edit: I'll only be able to tend to the archive thread about every 10 weeks. This board isn't so big as yet that anything can't be easily found, though!)
Here are some basic categories that we can use just to get the ball rolling:
Playthroughs
Roleplaying (Journaled)
PC Concept/Party Theme or Composition
Tactical Theme
Challenges
No-Reload
Minimal Reload
Tactical Theme
PC Concept/Party Theme or Composition
Speed Runs
Some game concepts will have overlap between categories, but to keep the number of categories under control pick the aspect of the concept that is most dominant.
In order to make a submission to the archive, please post the thread link using the name of the thread:
<a href="full link of the thread goes here" target="_blank">name of thread</a>
in a post in this thread.
Your Playthrough and Challenge threads may reside either in this forum or in General, whichever you prefer.
If you post a new Challenge or Playthrough thread in this forum, then please alert us in this thread of your wish to have the thread entered into the Archive list. Similarly, to alert us of a thread that is in General that you would like in the Archive list, please notify us as such in this thread.
Any better ideas re: how to catalog these threads?
- Roleplaying
- Tactical
I think most people who read game journals don't really care whether the concept is centered around the PC or the party.
Challenges
- No Reload
- Minimal Reload
- Tactical
- Roleplaying This is broader than PC Concept and may obviate the need for further categories; it also perfectly describes the example.
- Speed Runs
Other/Ideas Miscellaneous topics that don't really fit anywhere can go here rather than taking up a few categories by themselves.
I also recommend keeping all links in one sticky. There aren't that many yet, and people who are usually interested in a particular category are more likely to glance over and check out another one if it's in the same topic.
Many folks play games that are organized around PC and party composition that they lack the time or inclination to journal. But a brief description of such game concepts with some commentary on an example game can inspire others.
Examples we've seen include:
Soloing
all-Evil party
Wild Mage accompanied by only Chaotic-aligned NPCs
Party comprised of all specialist mages who cast only their own school's spells
all party members of the same class
And so forth.
Well, there is a basic distinction between a roleplayed game that is journaled, and simple illustration and discussion of an idea for a playthrough, which nine times out of ten, is based on PC/party.
So I merged PC Concept with Party Theme/Composition, and specified Roleplaying as (Journaled). Does that seem more in line with what folks will actually use?
While I think most players will still want their threads located in General (and the threads will get the most views and participation there, that's undoubtedly true) I remain hopeful that this subforum can be a place to brainstorm ideas and catalog such threads.
I was perusing this thread and tried to follow the link to the no reload thread and got a message that there was a problem with the websites security certificate - it only seems to appear for the 3 links in the no reload category - other categorys link fine - no message.
Is this thread to make a shortcut to other threads that have something to do with this idea? So i choose a category, post here and you copy/paste it on the OP in the respective category? (more alike the 1° paragraph of the OP)
Is this thread a place to share my experiences with the game, at least what i found unique about a gameplay, AND IF i want, i can do this by hiperlink to another thread where i already posted that?
(more alike with what was being explained in the What is the 'Challenges and Playthroughs' forum? How does it work?
It's a place to suggest new ideas to make the game more challengin, so they will be implemented by mod/official content? (doesn't appear to be this, but i hope to be wrong).
Discussion vault, an archive of every thread of this forum.
OR
Alternative to search for topics and discussions.
Just suggestions, also as an suggestion rename the thread as you see fit, but since Jaily is here with you on this project, clean the old posts and keep the thread short (after updating the suggested hiperlinks).
Presumably there will be brainstorming discussion threads about various ideas for playthroughs and challenges that aren't necessarily illustrative of the concept. So in that sense the archive it really isn't intended to link every thread in this forum.
I'm sorry if it is coming across as a bit murky yet. But this forum is first and foremost intended as a place for players to brainstorm and share ideas for playing the game in innovative ways (and so there will be threads about such subjects).
It is when someone has a fully articulated game concept and/or wishes to illustrate a playthrough idea by sharing about a game built on it (rather than just float an idea), or formally set up a challenge (i.e., competition), that is when they should make a submission to the archive.
Hope that makes sense!
(I meant it when I used terms like 'work in progress' and 'bear with us'! ;P)
Its an RP thread, with lax Rules.
Also I think it would be a better idea if you change the first and second posts in this thread.
So ppl will find the links first, and then those who need the info on how to do stuff can see it...
Sorry to hear you wont be around more often.

Is there an SCS complete saga run or more importantly BG2 and ToB with no custom party or solo in video format?
I first started playing after watching Zeckul and learning from his IWD and BGs LPs and then learned how to play solo and C/R more effectively from hexaruz and fell in love with the class. I would like to find a videos of SCS and learning new tricks and how to play classes more effectively. There are videos by SuperDave17 but his log and hotbar is cut and I can't see what he does.
